It sometimes works.There are two problems with it.The plastic fasteners are much flimsier than the ones used to attach tags in stores. The refills seem to be worse than the included staples.The second problem is the use of "original" in the product name.I had one of the originals and the quality was much better.The staples were sturdier and it was able to do all kinds of buttons.This one does not work on buttons with a metal loop instead of eye holes, nor on anything but the thinnest fabric.It is not so handy for quick repair, as I used 4 staples to get one button on.
