Singer 7463 Confidence 30-Stitch Electronic Sewing Machine Review

Singer 7463 Confidence 30-Stitch Electronic Sewing MachineThe first one I got was in Jan '09.It lasted me until June, and I started having a lot of problems with it.It started making terrible noises, sounded awful, wouldn't sew straight, stitches were inconsistent, tension was messing up intermittently I had to stop using it for vacation, got back and it was worse than ever.I sent it in for service (it took 3 weeks) and they sent it back saying they had adjusted the tension and found nothing wrong. It worked quietly for about 10 minutes, and then started freaking out again.I took it back and they swapped it out for a new one . The new one started having problems with feeding the fabric and rattling by the second day.The pressure on the presser foot was off, and there was no way of adjusting it.No way to lower the feed dogs either.I ended up returning it for a refund.

I was really disappointed with the quality of this machine.I wanted it to work well, and it did... briefly. It seems Singer has really lowered the bar with their quality standards.

Janome 7330 Magnolia Computerized Sewing Machine with 30 Built-In Stitches w/ Free Shipping!!!! Review

Janome 7330 Magnolia Computerized Sewing Machine with 30 Built-In Stitches w/ Free ShippingI am a first time sewer and I wanted a solid machine below $400.I wanted something I could grow into, but something that wouldn't overwhelm me.I had gone online to research machines.I was actually considering the Brother CS6000I before I had even heard of the Janome 7330.At the time there were 97 reviews on Amazon for the Brother CS6000I and I read every one.I was concerned b/c the low rated Brother reviews and even many of the 4 and 5 star reviews complained about the machine's tension and a finicky bobbin. The last thing I wanted to deal with was a touchy machine. If you read the reviews, without looking at the stars, most of them talk about the machine's quirks.I started to wonder if the Brother was trying to be too far reaching for it's price point.I was also wondering why so many were willing to overlook this touchiness that they all mentioned.

I went to SewVacDirect.com and did an online "ask a consultant" thing.I asked the person about the Brother CS6000I and the person directed me to the Janome.I had never heard of Janome before, but the consultant said that the Janome was far more sturdy than the Brother and that it was very easy to use.Still unsure, I decided to go to a store to see the machines in person.

After seeing the Janome and the Brother in action, I came home with the Janome 7330.After seeing the two machines work, I did feel that the Janome was better made and more sturdy.I felt more confident in the Janome's ability to grow with me through the years and felt it was more of the work horse that I was looking for.Twenty minutes after opening the box I was sewing.I'd never touched a machine before and I was sewing! It was as easy to use as they had told me.No weird finicky tricks to learn; just a solid machine.

The 7330 is computerized. It has a good number of stitches, including 5 different overcast stitches, three different one-step button holes, a darning stitch, and good number of decorative stitches. It has a free arm that has been great for doing the small arm and leg holes on the children's clothing I've been making. It has a foot pedal, although you can also use it sans the pedal. It has an up/down button that "remembers" if you last made the needle stay down when you stopped stitching. It also has a reverse button and an automatic needle threader. It's very easy to wind the bobbin and you just pop open the little lid and drop it in the hole.Super easy!

The instruction manual is very easy to follow and it comes with an all purpose presser foot, a satin foot (great for sewing on buttons!), a button foot, and a zipper foot.It also comes with a seam ripper, some bobbins, a brush for cleaning, a screw driver, and some plastic rings that hold the spool of thread in place.

When I told my friends that I had purchased a Janome, all of them said it was a very good brand.I found out that is a Japanese company and Janome means "eye of the snake" as it was one of the pioneers of using a round bobbin instead of a long shuttle back in the 1920's.Janome was the first to make a computerized sewing machine in the 1970's.I'm including this information b/c if you've never heard of this brand before, it's not a fly by night. It's been around for awhile and it has a very good reputation with those who know it.I also found that Janome sponsors a DIY website, threadbanger.com, which has some really neat ways to be green by reusing, recycling, and reconstructing things.

In conclusion, go to a retailer and see for yourself. It's a solid machine!!

Brother SE350 Computerized Embroidery-and-Sewing Machine Review

Brother SE350 Computerized Embroidery-and-Sewing MachineI bought my Brother in April 2008 and have been sewing on it daily for at least 3 hours every day since then.I've never had ANY trouble with it.It's a MUST that you also buy the PED Basic to go with your machine so that you can download designs from the internet.I've downloaded over 8,000 free designs so far, and that's just a "drop in the bucket".You're limited to 4 x 4 designs (that's the only drawback). The machine is very light weight and has accompanied me on many trips. You don't have to have special needles or special bobbins for this machine. It's VERY user friendly! The patterns that come with the machine are very high quality, as are the Alphabets.I'd like to have more fonts on the machine, but they are so easily accessible on the internet that this really isn't an issue.I will say that 40 weight rayon thread seems to work best (and use a bobbin thread when embroidering). When I finally wear this machine out, I'll probably go with another Brother machine.

Brother 1034D 3/4 Lay-In Thread Serger Review

Brother 1034D 3/4 Lay-In Thread SergerI think if you're looking at this machine, you're either a) new to serging or b) impressed by the price and interested in the quality.I'm completely new to sergers, but I did my homework before buying this one, and for the price and the performance, this serger has a perfect balance.

I was also concerned about being able to figure out how to use it on my own (so many people talk about taking a class) but within a day I felt like I knew it inside and out. It's setup is uncomplicated and I was able to get right to work. There's something to be said about passing over the machine that can "do it all" and buying one that just does what you need.

1) The "how-to" videos are wonderful for the visual learner. You can pick up the same knowledge from the thorough instruction book(s) included, but the videos reinforce the book.Watching the video on "threading" once, and following the line drawings on the machine itself, I was able to thread the machine in 5 minutes. (It's really not that hard - it's all color coded and the steps are numbered, but the videos help)

2) Included are two additional feet, one for a blind hem/flatlock and another for gathering ruffles as you sew.Together, they themselves are an $60 value. The feet are "snap-on" (when I read about that online I instantly thought of breakable plastic, but the feet are primarily metal with some plastic pieces on the blind hem foot) - the "snap-on" construction is very easy to use and solid (i.e. nothing is going to snap OFF over time)

3) It's very easy to set the tension and the manual has a very clear chart on troubleshooting uneven stitches (with 4 threads, there are multiple things that can be off with the tension).

4) The company description says that it does 22 stitch functions, which I think is a little misleading (it does the basic stuff and they show different applications for the basics).
THIS IS WHAT IT DOES:
1. 3/4-thread overlock (uses 4 threads; best for use with knits or upholstery fabric)
2. 3-thread overlock (general use) in two widths - 3mm (using only the right needle) and 5mm (using only the left)
3. Rolled hem (great for edges of napkins, pajama bottoms, frilly skirts, etc)
4. Flatlock stitch (decorative or flat seams)
5. Blind hem
THIS IS WHAT IT DOESN'T DO:
1. Coverlock stitch (stretchy stitch with two straight lines on the front of the fabric). If you're sewing for yourself (i.e. not selling what you make), you can fake this stitch on your regular zigzag sewing machine with a twin needle. It's not quite the same, but close enough for me.
2. Chain stitch (a semi-straight stitch, similar to a regular sewing machine but easier to rip out (i.e. good for basting) and a good reinforcement for upholstery)
Other sergers I looked at that did the coverlock stitch in addition to overlock, etc. had complicated and time consuming adjustments to be made to switch to the coverlock. If you're going to use it a lot, consider getting a separate machine that does it (the Brother model is 2340CV).
The one feature the 1034D is missing for me is the ability to do a 3-thread overlock and a chain stitch at the same time - good for upholstery but something available only on a 5 thread machine.

5) Nice little things:
1. You have the option of using regular thread spools (cheaper and smaller if you don't need 1000 yards x 4 of whatever color you're buying)
2. You use regular needles - so you can use them in both your regular sewing machine and your serger
3. It's really easy to control speed with the foot pedal - very responsive
4. Disabling the knife (that trims your fabric as you sew) is done with just the flick of a switch
5. Differential feed allows you to sew any thickness of fabric, line up stripes evenly, etc.

Singer 1507 8-Stitch Sewing Machine Review

Singer 1507 8-Stitch Sewing MachineI've worked with those really old, big, and clunky sewing machines when I was about 8-13 years old under my mom's and grandmother's supervision. Now I'm 25, and recently decided I needed a sewing machine of my own. I don't have room for any big machine similar to what I was used to, so I thought a small portable one should do the job for me.

I got a really cheap $30 set from Walgreens, and that stopped working 5 minutes out of the box. Figured I ought to be a little more serious, so I opted to spend more than I really wanted to get this. I am very glad that I did.

I just got it today. The manual is super easy to understand. I'd never threaded a machine on my own before, but there is even a numbered guide right on the machine to tell you where the top thread goes. The guide on the machine plus the very simple instructions in the manual made threading the thing a breeze.

With the foot pedal, it's fairly easy to control the speed. I've read some reviews on similar machines (a Brother one, in particular, that I was also looking at) with complaints of it going from 0 to 100 with nothing in between. Not so with this one.

It's really quiet. It's a little awkward having the top spool horizontal, but it works. It's a little heavier than I expected, but that makes it more sturdy. It has a little storage compartment that's really convenient and a nice way to keep everything in one place. It has a little lever for reverse sewing, which I really like. Comes with a neat little cover that has a slot at the top for the carrying handle.

Overall, it is a very straightforward machine that works great, is simple to use and easy to understand.

Singer Futura CE-250 Sewing and Embroidery Machine Review

Singer Futura CE-250 Sewing and Embroidery MachineI purchased this machine because I wanted to learn to do machine embroidery and didn't want to spend a fortune.I think it is an excellent value. It seems very solid and sewed beautifully with no adjustments straight out of the box. There are sensors in the thread path that are very sensitive and incorrectly report broken thread quite often. As soon as I got the hang of flossing the thread into the sensors this became less of a problem. There are several yahoo groups dedicated to machine embroidery and the nice peoplethere were of great assistance to me as I got started.

Folks like me who are new to machine embroidery should understand that the sewing machine must be physically attached to a computer while you are embroidering. The soft ware running the computer sends the information to the sewing machine one color at a time so don't think that you can download the design and then sew it out later. You are going to need a computer to run the embroidery feature of this machine.I'm using an old computer that was discarded at my office because it was too slow to run large office programs over a network.I took all the other software off and it runs the Future software just fine.If you are going to need to acquire a computer to run your embroidery machine you should consider that cost along with the price of the Futura.

Thread is the paint of embroidery and since it is different than regular thread you are also going to have to make an investment in thread to get started. The price of a spool can vary greatly but if you buy a bunch at one time it can be pricy so think about this to when deciding to make the plunge into machine embroidery.

The difference between the Futura 250 and the Futura 350 is the software. If you plan to create your own embroidery designs you should know that only the basic software comes with the 250 but you can purchase the full software separately.Making clip art into machine embroidery is much more difficult than I first thought and to run the Futura software the sewing machine must be connected to the computer even if you are just working on the design and not doing the actual sewing. There are other software packages that do not have this requirement. You could use them to make the art into embroidery files but you will still need to be connected to your Futura to stitch them out.

I am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to other people like me who just want to have some fun and spice up their craft and sewing projects. If you are looking to do embroidery professionally then purchase a higher priced and faster machine.

Brother Deluxe Electronic Sewing Machine - CS6000i Review

Brother Deluxe Electronic Sewing Machine - CS6000iI honestly don't sew much. I didn't think I could sew until I got this machine. In fact, I bought myself another machine years ago that I gave to my mom, because it was so hard to use. I just thought I couldn't sew.

My son is now in scouts and they have so many patches to sew on. I decided I needed another sewing machine. Wow. I'm glad I got this one. It's so easy to use, even for a novice like me. I couldn't sew a straight line before, but now it's easy. I even made my son a sleeping bag with buttons and an attached pillowcase. I sew all my son's patches and do all the mending. It's so easy. I simply follow the instructions that came with the machine.

Threading couldn't be simpler. There's a diagram imprinted on the top of the machine for reference. The automatic needle threaded works like a charm. The bobbin winds easily and all I have to do is drop it in and pull the thread through and it's done. I remember the days when my mom, a seamstress, would have to thread her own machine. What a pain that was. Glad I don't have to do it.

There are so many different feet that it comes with and all the necessary tools. I can choose the stitches by looking on the side of the machine and punching the button to match and the screen tells me which foot I need for that stitch. Cool.

This is the best investment in a sewing machine I've ever made. So easy to use, lightweight, comes with everything I need, and a great instruction book.

Brother ES2000 77 Stitch Function Computerized Free Arm Sewing Machine Review

Brother ES2000 77 Stitch Function Computerized Free Arm Sewing MachineThis machine is very similar to the popular CS 6000 that's sold both here in Amazon and in Walmart. In fact they both use the same manual. The difference between the 2 are: CS6000 has an start/stop button so you can operate the machine w/o foot pedal, quilting accessories such as walking foot and larger table extension, needle up/down button, faster bobbin winding, 2 speeds, a hard cover and some extra fancy stitches. I don't care about these missing features. I sewed my own cloth cover using left over fabric. To me this little machine has all the functionality that I ever wanted from a sewing machine. All the utility stitches are there - sewing buttons and button holes (1-step), zippers, elastic, overlock, zig zag, satin, blah blah blah - everything you need to sew a dress or a pillow case, plus more. If you quilt a lot buy the CS6000 one. Threading is super easy because the direction is printed right on the machine. The automatic needle threader is very helpful. I use it every time. My only complaint is that the thread tends to slip out of the needle hole unless I leave a very long "tail". This happened w/ CS6000 too when I tried it at a friend's house. With both models you can specify if the needle is left up or down when sewing stops. Both needs no oiling (probably mostly plastic parts?) I haven't sewed very heavy fabric yet. The LED light is very dim but cool. You definitely need a real lamp nearby. You can leave the machine on for a long time because the light uses very little energy. If you do turn it off, all the custom stitch settings will be lost (no memory). So far I am very happy with this machine.

Michley LSS-208 Lil' Sew & Sew Mini 2-Speed Sewing Machine Review

Michley LSS-208 Lil' Sew & Sew Mini 2-Speed Sewing MachineI rec'd this machine just as promised and after reading other reviews, I set about reading the instructions. It was not to difficult to figure out but what surprised me was that it did not do a lock stitch. It does an adequate chain stitch but not a lock stitch. I wound up donating it to the Girl Scouts and bought a real machine at a local superstore.

Singer 7442 Electronic Sewing Machine Review

Singer 7442 Electronic Sewing MachineSews okay, although the foot feed is very sticky - that is, it won't go and won't go and then suddenly takes off like a goosed horse.Has several features I don't like much: needle ends stitch in "up" position which makes it hard to pivot; reverse lever is in a different spot than any other machine I have ever seen or used; "decorative" stitches aren't particularly good or decorative; satin stitch width and length is hard to program in, unravels and looks crappy; and, finally, the buttonhole feature has major problems [1] it starts at the bottom of the marked buttonhole rather than the top (hard to see if you are on course) [2] it works backward from any other buttonhole feature I've seen or used and [3] the buttonholes look very amateurish -even after all possible adjustments the stitches are too far apart so that the buttonhole frays and unravels, plus because the feature has a programmed backstitch to start, it often jams.So far these poor quality buttonholes have ruined two or three garments. The whole machine seems over-engineered.Note: I've been sewing mostly clothes for 50 years now and have used many brands of machine, this isn't the worst but it is the worst for the price.

Singer 7470 Confidence Electronic Sewing Machine Review

Singer 7470 Confidence Electronic Sewing MachineI have had this machine for about a month. I have made a quilt, 4 shirts, and 3 sets of curtains with it. I am a sewing novice. I spent some time on my mother's machine as a kid, it was unfortunate as it broke a lot, and now I'm really learning how to do it through quilting and sewing classes.

Pros:
Auto tension! I love it. It works every time.
Drop in bobbin! I will never go back.
Easy to select stitches. (however,do read the manual before doing
twin needle work!)
Lots of choices for embellishing items with embroidery.
So far, no issues and I've sewn heavy and light fabrics.

Cons:
The autothreader takes more work than doing it myself.
You will need another light source if you like to sew at night.

I don't like that to reverse stitch I have to hold the button at
the same time I guide my fabric. Couldn't they just let me press
the button, then press the button again when I'm done with
reverse? (That's not novice friendly!)

A bit heavy to carry. I'm tough, but carrying it for more than a
short walk will get to you. Get a rollerboard carrier and skip
the plastic case.

Janome ThreadBanger TB12 Sewing Machine Review

Janome ThreadBanger TB12 Sewing MachineThis machine is a real workhorse. I worked in a tailor shop for years on a Bernina and fell in love with their machines, but could never afford one. This machine is as easy to use and works as well as a Bernina and I have since found out that Janome makes some of Bernina's machines for them, specifically the Bernette.

I just got this machine this week, but I absolutely LOVE it. I have gone through multiple layers of fleece without so much as a hiccup and have also done some finer work on thin cotton material, also without a hiccup.

It is a metal arm & base with some plastic parts. Has a storage box right on the front which is handy, and is very easy to change stitches, etc.

Definitely worth the money. You won't regret purchasing this machine.

Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine Review

Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing MachineI recently upgraded to this machine from a 10 year old Kenmore I was having issues with. What a find! This machine has lots of bells and whistles, which is an added bonus, but it's also very user friendly.I've already produced a tote bag on it and look forward to working with it more in the near future.

I wanted a reliable machine that had multiple functions, so that I could expand beyond my current methods to something more elaborate. This machine has met my expectations so far.It sews smoothly through multiple layers of fabric, interfacing and lining, with ease.I haven't even had to use the foot pedal as there's a start/stop button feature!I feel like I've stepped out of the dark ages into the future. =)I'm hoping that the machine lasts, especially for the price, but for now, I'm satisfied with my investment.I would recommend it to anyone considering buying it!

Brother XL2610 Free-Arm Sewing Machine with 25 Built-In Stitches and 59 Stitch Functions Review

Brother XL2610 Free-Arm Sewing Machine with 25 Built-In Stitches and 59 Stitch FunctionsI just bought this sewing machine about three weeks ago. I got it as a replacement for a Bernette that I used for about thirty minutes total that the repair man could not figure out how to fix. I am working on my fashion certificate and needed one right away. I picked this one partially because it was PINK!
This machine is easy to use - bobbin winding, changing stitches, portability, two-needle. I like a mechanical machine. I have not tried the buttonholer yet. A great first machine! This is my fourth. I like the reverse, the freearm, the size.
Petty annoyance - the presser foot is low when up, so when you need to know where your needle is going into the fabric, you have to knock the foot up with your finger so you can see - not a big deal. BIG deal - put the zipper foot on and then you have to adjust the needle width out of the zipper foot groove to get the seam close enough to the zipper, because the foot is wide(???) at the back and on the same level(???) as the foot itself. Maybe I'll just use invisible zippers.
If you are rough with things, do not buy this machine. Many of the parts are plastic, like the presser foot lever. We use that a lot.
I have sewn with many layers of denim, very light fabrics, and much in between with great success. Just change the needle after each project.
I hope I have given you enough information to begin to make an informed decision.

Brother XL-3750 Convertible Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Quilting Features Review

Brother XL-3750 Convertible Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Quilting FeaturesIts been about 12 years since I have sewed (on a borrowed machine)... I purchased this machine in Feb and it was so easy to set up and use.. I am about halfway done a baby quilt and have really enjoyed sewing again.I think that if the machine hadn't worked so nicely I would have been frustrated.I haven't sewn enough to really know how to fix problems. The instruction manual was easy to follow and at one point when the tension wasn't right, the manual provided me what I needed to fix it....I have a friend who sews regularly who recommended this to me and I have been exremely happy.....

Brother PC-210 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine Review

Brother PC-210 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing MachineI bought this machine a couple of weeks ago.It is an upgrade for me from a VERY basic Brother machine.I bought mine at a sewing machine store; actually cheaper than Amazon and I get their expertise/service.

One major feature I was looking for in my new machine is speed control.I am teaching my daughter to sew; this machine can be set to sew very very ssssslllloooww.Great when trying to teach a nine year old.Threading is pretty simple; there is a nifty automatic needle threader.I'm using it but threading a machine needle was never a big deal for me.I also like the automatic needle up feature. On every machine I ever used previously, I had to turn the wheel when done sewing a line to raise the needle. This machine does it automatically.

This Brother makes a very nice buttonhole; not as nice perhaps as a machine twice its price but still, just fine.It has this neat buttonhole foot in which you put your desired button in the back and it uses that button to automatically make the proper sized buttonhole. All in one step. This is WAY better than my old machine.

The bobbin is a top-drop-in.No more bringing up the loop, just put in in and sew.

One feature I've yet to use is a front stop/go control button.I guess that if you didn't want to or couldn't use a foot pedal you could use this button instead.I can see it being nice for buttonholes; you just position your fabric, push the "go" button, and it makes all the side of the buttonhole and stops automatically.

This machine trys to make things oops-proof.If you've ever jambed your machine because you started sewing with the presser foot up, well, that can't happen with this machine. If things aren't "right", it will give you an error beep.

Another nice feature is that the machine automatically sets an "ideal" stitch length/width.You can overide it but for the most part, the defalt is perfect, especially with the decorative stitches.

There are several decorative stiches; I haven't quite figured out the best way to put them to use but that's just my own lack of creativity.

One last nice feature is a built-in foot holder. In front of the free-arm is a flip-down compartment that has molded, labeled spots for all your feet. It comes with a standard foot, zipper foot, blind hem stitch foot, decorative stitching foot, overlock foot, button attacher foot, and buttonhole foot. Also in the compartment is a molded space for a seam ripper and 4 bobbins (included).I've found it nice to have all these feet in one spot.I have a couple specialty feet from my old Brother machine and they fit and work just fine on my new one.An added plus.

One note; this machine takes bobbins that are a bit thicker than older ones.Buy a bunch of new ones; they say old ones won't work.

All in all, I'm very happy.I'm glad I went with this model and would buy again.

***edited to add:my one gripe about this machine is that the built in lights are lacking. My old machine put out quite a lot of light; this one is MUCH dimmer.

Michley LSS-202 Lil' Sew & Sew Mini 2-Speed Sewing Machine Review

Michley LSS-202 Lil' Sew & Sew Mini 2-Speed Sewing MachineWe received this little sewing machine yesterday, and I'm delighted with it!I was able to quickly mend a damaged quilt and it sewed through all of the layers without trouble.

The design is just like a large machine, with the same thread path, and with care, it sews a simple straight stitch just fine!If the thread breaks, check the tension, and make sure the presser foot is down when you are sewing, just like on a large machine. It has features that I didn't expect, such as the ability to take full size spools of thread, as well as bobbins, and it even has a bobbin winder! It runs on either 4 AA batteries or an included DC adapter.Since it's made of plastic, and not as sturdy as my full sized machine, I plan to treat it with extra care so it will last.

Excellent for quick mending.

Brother XL2600I 25-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch Functions Review

Brother XL2600I 25-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch FunctionsThis is a great machine for the price.I am teaching my teenage daughter to sew and she is turned off by my clunky old Singer. So I keep that around for the tough jobs and use this new Brother for the light weight stuff.

The only major limitation of this machine is that it can't really handle heavy weight fabrics or multiple layers very well. There is no presser foot adjustment, so the foot can only be raised so much, and can't be adjusted for variable feed, depending on fabric thickness. There is only one setting. That means you need to use plenty of pins, and keep the old Singer around for the heavy duty stuff.Otherwise, a fun little machine.

Brother CS6000I 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch Functions Review

Brother CS6000I 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch FunctionsThis machine represents the most incredible value-for-money on the market today. It is very, very easy to use, and the manual is exceptionally helpful. It comes with every foot and accessory you could ever possibly need.In fact, there is nothing more you can buy for it.Compare that to the other sewing machine manufacturers, which give you only the most basic feet and then you must purchase everything else separately. If you have been hankering for the convenience of fully computerized sewing, automatic needle threading, push-button sewing, and lots of fun stitches, don't hesitate.I highly recommend this machine.I've owned very expensive machines from all the top manufacturers, and would not recommend it if the stitches were not beautiful or if it were loud or junky. This was given to me as a gift (I'm ashamed to say I would probably have walked right past it because of its low price) and I love it so much, I have gone on to buy the Brother serger here on Amazon, and also a $999.00 Brother Innovis, which is another tremendous bargain.I was really pleased to see that even the more expensive machine uses the same bobbins and feet as this one, and this has many of the same features. This $200 machine comes iwth virtually all the same attachments as the $1000 one.

This is the machine that some of the larger sewing and quilting expos are using in their workshops now because they are so lightweight, easy to learn, and reliable.High end Berninas and Vikings are just too complicated for people to sit down and learn at in a classroom setting, and they are way too expensive. This machine is the Featherweight of the 21st century, with tons of stitches and fun built in.Go for it!!!
