Bosch Compact Plus Health Guard Canister Vacuum Cleaner BSA 2200UC Review

The Bosch Compact Plus Health Gaurd canister vacuum is a dream. This is my first vacuum and I know I made a great choice.

The suction power is adjustable, and man is it strong. I vaccum my short berber carpets on the second lowest setting and get dirt and sand left behind by my former roomate's upright.
It's quiet! I can hold a conversation on the telephone while vacuuming on low suction, the higher the suction selected the louder it gets. But even the loudest it gets is only as loud or quiter than the other machines I've used.
The small size is perfect for the condo I live in. The power cord and hose are long enough to fully clean the largest room and a little beyond.
The cord automaticaly retracts, this is a wonderful feature for those who are tired of winding up a powercord.
It cleans hard floors equally well as carpets. There is a switch on the head to change from carpet to hard surface.
The canister glides along with ease, no tugging the hose to make it catch up.
It is SOOO light. I don't have any problem toting it up and down the stairs, it is only 9.5 lbs. and the two carrying handles are sturdy and comfortable to grip.
The styling is handsome. The ruby red color is more fun than dark blue or black.
The telescoping tube can lie flush with the ground so it is possible to clean under furniture with at least 3 in. of clearance.
With the HEPA filter there are no particles of dust in the exhaust, it is cleaner than the normal air, it is condusive to households with alergies.

To recap, the vacuum is powerful, lightweight, manuverable, cute,easy to use.

This is an awesome product, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I selected the Brother SA224CV after reading many other reviews on various coverstitch sergers. I have not tried all the accessory feet I purchased for the machine but the standard stitch has been very fast and easy to use.I have a Viking serger but never used the coverhem features because it took me longer to set up the machine than do the serging. Ordered these for my mother who had recently purchased a Brother CS6000I sewing machine, with uses the larger (11.5mm, 7/16th-inch) bobbins.Although (at least at the time of purchase) this product appeared when you searched for the correct Brother part number AND the CS6000I appeared as a buying suggestion on this item's product page, it is important to note that these bobbins are of the smaller type, therefore NOT compatible with the Brother CS6000I.Since "customers who bought this product also bought" the CS6000I, it looks as if it might be a common mistake.

The product itself seems to be of good quality if you need the smaller bobbins, but the important compatibility information that is present on the back of the packaging is missing on the product page.

Heavy Duty Serger Overlock Carrying Case Review

Hard-sided carrying cases for sergers do not seem to be very common (at least they weren't when I was searching for one). Most people likely keep the serger set up all the time and so don't need to store it. I currently don't have a dedicated sewing area, and wanted a hard side instead of a luggage-style soft side case so that it could function as a 'cabinet' when the serger is not in use. Cordminder Review

Fairgate -648335 Ruler Review

This tool does everything. It helps with drafting or redrafting armscyes or any curve in sewing. I have a set of French curves that I now don't need because this does it better. I had a plastic tool that did some similar things but it broke. This is much sturdier and more versatile. It's just heavy enough that it won't bend or warp, but is still lightweight. I recommend it for any sewer.

They dont make them like they use to.Poor, cheap quality.needles bend and break. The thread constantly breaks.I was sewing neoprene boots which are pretty easy to sew but the awl kept bending the needles and breaking the thread.I was really amazed how cheap these products are.The old ones use to last forever.Maybe that was the problem.They worked to good, so they had to make cheap poor quality ones now so you would have to break them and buy more.The old saying is true. " you get what you pay for."

Back in July, I purchased this iron as my latest, expensive Rowenta iron started leaking like a sieve (at just over 1 year old).This iron is fantastic!From the first time I used it, it has been great.

The Reliable iron has a separate chamber and heat source for the water that generates the steam. This means that steam is available at a lower heat setting than usual.Also, the steam is consistent - no spitting, leaking or dribbling.The steam can be used with the iron in a vertical position (for steam-pressing a garment).The iron has two steam settings.The higher steam setting puts forth a tremendous amount of steam - just like a steam generator iron but without having a separate water tank to deal with.

The manufacturer does recommend using distilled water (really the only downside).The iron has removable/replaceable filters to extend the life of the iron by filtering out the mineral deposits that can prematurely gunk up an iron.

All in all, this is one terrific iron.I highly recommend it to anyone, especially to anyone who does sewing/quilting.Fantastic iron!

Singer 118 NEW! FEATHERWEIGHT II(R) Review

So sorry that this is a very bad product.Singer went out of business many years ago and only sold the right to use the name.This machine sewed 2 quilt tops before freezing up and had to be thrown away totally useless and not fixable.It is a nice size for taking to quilt class but needs to keep working more than 2 months.

Sewing Cart with Extension Table Review

I purchased the table as an addition to my sewing room.I knew I would not use it on a daily basis and therefore choose a cheaper model.The table was a kit and had to be put together / easy to do.However several of the drawers were damaged and had to be replaced.The customer service was excellent and I had the replacement parts in just a few days.I especially like the "fold up" feature that allows me to keep the room uncluttered looking.I think it is an excellent buy for the quality product I wanted.

Reliable Empressa Digital Steam Presses Review

I have always been lousy at ironing.
This steam press makes my life a lot easier.I can press both sides of an item at one time.I can put a crease in that lasts all day.

It takes some time to get used to putting items on the press.I don't really use the steam much, but I use the squirt bottle all the time.Sometimes I placed an item so it developed a crease somewhere I didn't want it.Just squirt and repress.

Unlike regular ironing where you work on a small portion at a time, this does half a shirt or a whole pants leg at a time.Proper placement and smoothing it out before pressing is VERY important or else you repeat.
I usually count to about 8 and it is done.
Most shirts take four presses of 8 seconds each.Half the shirt twice and the sleeves.Pants, hmm, I am still working on the alignment thing.Usually I am pressing the pants flat, meaning seam to seam, then folding to put the crease down the leg.

You will burn yourself.My boyfriend gave me cut resistant gloves and cut the finger tips out on the palm side to help me do the alignment thing.It opens like a clamshell.The front side is about 10" open and the back end is only about 2-3" open.It is very easy to bump the top with your hand, which is the heated part, in the process of lying clothes on it.I also wear long sleeves.AND pants or shorts.It sits about four inches lower than my fully raised ironing board since I also got the stand.Perfect for sitting,While standing, well, I am tall so it is right at my crouch level.I haven't experienced it but I heard a man who stated that he accidentally caught his "stuff" in it.So, I don't use it naked.

Singer Inspiration w/ No Error ThreadingTM 4228 Review

I bought this machine yesterday.It was so easy to use that within minutes we had threaded it and started sewing.Indeed, I was quite happy until today (a day later) when the bobbin thread started bunching. Within minutes the machine stopped stitching completely!!(The needle thread just won't pick up the bobbin thread at all!!) I telephoned the store and they think it may need timing adjustments!!!Will be returning it in the morning for a complete refund.Am thinking of getting a Brother instead.I had paid more for the Singer brand but am thoroughly disappointed!

Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter with 2 Cartridges Review

I bought this product on a deal and a whim.I didn't expect to think it was SO COOL!!!I've looked at many "scrapbooking" gadgets and hate the commercialism that goes with a craft that started as a leftover way to archive.I've been "papercrafting" for decades, way before the modern "scrapbook" and "papercraft" fads.But the more I saw online about this machine, the more I was intrigued.So, once it arrived I unpacked it and within a half hour I was turning out letters.There is a tiny learning curve that amounts to calibrating the machine for what you want it to do, but the machine is intuitive, useful, versatile and fast.I can't believe how quickly it turnsout phrases that would have taken me days to cut out by hand.

I love it, I'm hooked, my only complaint is that the supplies and cartridges are so expensive that the expendable and disposable nature makes me have to be extremely cautious about what I choose to purchase. As an artist I do not have the disposable income to make mistakes.But I love this Cricut...chirp!

Brother PE700 Embroidery Machine Review

So far I haven't seen much this machine can't stitch thru!I monogram on key Fobs, diaper bags, clothes, burp clothes, overalls, hats, etc!You name it you it works!It has great features like the autothreader, drop in bobbin, warning when the bobbin is running out, I love the outline feature that will show you in the field exactly where the design will go!I love the several hoop sizes!I have the small, large and extra large and love them all!All in all I would highly recommend this machine to anyone!

SINGER QUICKFIX MEND MACHINE Review

Save your money.We bought this machine from Target just to handle a few repairs and a hem here and there. Simple enough, eh?NOT. First off, this machine works off of 4 AA batteries or DC current; therefore, the piddly motor doesn't have enough power to drive the needle through anything but the lightest fabric.Next, upon assembly the foot petal did not work, thus the only way we could use the machine is by switching the power on or off.We tried it out for about 10 minutes and agreed that this machine, at any price, is a loser.Think about paying $20 more for the Brother LS2125I.

Singer Spool Knitter Machine Review

I bought this spool knitting machine for my daughter, who is 6 1/2 years old.We've been going to a kids knitting group together, and she was getting frustrated with the learn-to-knit process.I thought that if she could get results a little faster, it would be more satisfying for her.It turned out to be true.She loves that she can make a long I-cord in just minutes, and has started planning projects that previously she never would have considered.The novelty of a machine spool knitter is very popular at the knitting group, and all the kids want a turn at the crank!

One thing to note is that the knitter is relatively easy to use with a few caveats.First, READ the directions for threading the knitter!I thought using it would be easy, but spent a 1/2 hour trying to thread it before checking the instructions (I know, my bad!).Anyway, it is easy to thread, but not obvious to thread.Now that I know the secret, I no longer have to check the instructions.

Second, the yarn provided is not very strong and will break easily.In an I-cord, it is strong enough, but alone it's pretty weak.It's easy to thread new yarn onto the spools, though.

Third, one thing we learned is that it's important to turn the crank in a steady, fast motion.About 2 cranks/second is a about right.If you stop too suddenly, the knitter will skip a few stitches, and you will have to use a crochet hook, or other instrument, to get it straightened out.

Finally, it's easy to change colors - just tie a knot between the end of one yarn and the yarn on the new spool.I haven't tried it yet, but I bet self-striping yarn would be really neat on this knitter!
