Purchased this serger after checking out reviews on the Web. Juki seemed to have a good reputation for reliability. It came threaded with the threads cut off & wrapped around the presser foot knob. A lot of people tie on another thread and do not thread the machine.I was determined to learn how to thread it and removed the cut off threads & threaded it with new thread. It was not as hard as I thought it would be but you will need tweeser's andthe supplied thread hook. I tested the machine and it sewed perfectly. The machine was quieter than I expected and seems to be well built. I was impressed with the fit and finish of the parts as well as the cast aluminum frame.
